About RailField Notes

RailField Notes is an independent UK editorial publication covering regional operations, logistics careers, and workplace negotiation.

Why our domain is rrfs-group.com

The domain rrfs-group.com originally stood for the Regional Rail & Freight Scheduling Group — an informal knowledge-sharing circle started by northern UK transport coordinators, roster planners, and intermodal dispatchers comparing notes on shift handovers and career progression.

When 5 Ronin Media Ltd acquired and relaunched the publication under the editorial title RailField Notes, we kept the original rrfs-group.com web address so long-standing bookmarks from logistics and operations readers continued to work seamlessly, while expanding our coverage to structured salary negotiation and accredited online university training.

How we select and review online courses

Most workplace advice on salary negotiation falls into two unhelpful extremes: vague pep talks (“just know your worth”) or confrontational ultimatum scripts that backfire in real British hiring rounds. We focus on short, university-backed courses that teach repeatable preparation frameworks — including anchoring with regional market data, identifying a Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement (BATNA), and planning mutual trade-offs before picking up the phone.

Editorial independence & affiliate funding

RailField Notes is published in the United Kingdom by 5 Ronin Media Ltd (Company No. 13990665). Some outbound links on our site point to third-party educational platforms such as edX and are marked with rel="sponsored". If you enrol or purchase an optional verified certificate through one of those links, we may receive an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. This never alters the tuition price you pay.
